Pesto Pizza

These make it yourself pizza places are popping up everywhere! Tim and I thoroughly enjoy passing through Gainesville or Orlando and grabbing a bite to eat at Blaze, an awesome pizza place. We absolutely love the combination of flavors, and stop by any chance we get. Why not try to make the pizza we love from the comfort of our own home? You pick the toppings, and throw them on this crust, and I promise you that you will devour it!

Yields 1 pizza
Dough:
1 cup warm water
2 1/4 tsp yeast
1 Tbsp raw cane sugar

3 Tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup unbleached flour
1 tsp salt

Mix the first 3 ingredients and let it sit for about 10 minutes. After the yeast has proofed and is foamy, add the olive oil. In a bowl mix together the flour and salt and stir the wet ingredients to make a nice dough. Let dough rest again for another 10 minutes.

Toppings:
Olive oil
Garlic
Basil, chopped
Kalamata olives
Red onion
Mushrooms
Oregano

For the pesto pizza, I brushed olive oil over the crust, and sprinkled it with chopped basil, and sliced garlic. Then I poured tomato sauce over the top, and continued adding the olives, tomatoes, onion, and mushrooms. Be creative and try out different styles of pizza and combinations of toppings!
